The Minnesota Secretary of State encourages voting by mail during the pandemic. The Minnesota legislature decided that the state will not automatically send out absentee ballots - you must request an absentee ballot. You can request your absentee ballot online or complete a paper request here.
Minnesota voters will NOT be required to have a witness for their absentee ballot for the August 11 Primary Election based on a court consent decree on June 17, 2020. More information on the consent decree is here. A court case is still pending regarding the requirement for a witness on absentee ballots for the November General Election.
